LA Home-Sharing Ordinance (HSO)
The City of Los Angeles enforces the Home-Sharing Ordinance. Nightly STR is permitted only with HSO registration, only at the host's primary residence, and is capped at 120 nights per year (180 with an Extended Home-Sharing approval). Mid-term rentals of 30 days or more are exempt from HSO entirely and are not subject to the night cap or the primary-residence requirement.
