- Short Stay in LA manages furnished homes across 18 neighborhoods in Los Angeles County, including Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Marina del Rey, Venice, Playa Vista, Culver City, West Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Studio City, Pasadena, and Long Beach. If your property is in the LA area and not on this list, contact us anyway. We assess the address, confirm whether we can manage it, and tell you the best legal stay type for your specific neighborhood before you commit to anything.
- Management fees start at 10% of the revenue your home generates and run to 20% for our white-glove Premium tier. There are no onboarding fees, no setup costs, and no cancellation fees. You only pay when your home earns. Each tier (Essential 10%, Standard 15%, Premium 20%) is a flat percentage of managed revenue with no surprise add-ons.
- Short-term rental rules in Los Angeles vary by city and have tightened significantly. The City of Los Angeles enforces the Home-Sharing Ordinance (HSO), which requires a primary-residence permit and caps nightly rentals at 120 days per year. Beverly Hills has banned short-term rentals entirely. Santa Monica requires an RBOA permit. Malibu falls under separate LA County rules for unincorporated areas. Short Stay in LA maps every property to its applicable local law before listing, and steers most homes toward fully legal furnished stays of 31 days or more (corporate housing, insurance displacement, relocation bookings, film crew rentals) which avoid HSO restrictions while earning comparable or higher revenue.
- Any length. We place both short and extended furnished stays. For most LA homes the longer, fully legal bookings (corporate housing, insurance-displacement housing, relocations, and film and TV crew rentals) are the steadiest and most profitable option. Mid-term stays of 30 days or more avoid LA's Home-Sharing Ordinance restrictions entirely and serve a higher-quality, lower-turnover tenant pool than nightly vacation rentals.
- Short-term rentals (STR) in Los Angeles are nightly bookings under 30 days. They are subject to the LA Home-Sharing Ordinance, capped at 120 nights per year, and require the property to be the host's primary residence. Mid-term rentals (MTR) are furnished stays of 30 days or more. They are exempt from STR ordinances in most LA jurisdictions, can be offered by non-primary-residence owners, and typically serve corporate relocations, traveling professionals, insurance displacement, and film crews. For most LA homes the MTR path produces steadier monthly revenue with less compliance risk than STR.
- Owners receive a payout every month on a fixed cycle, typically within the first five business days of the following month. Each payment comes with a statement that shows gross revenue, any maintenance or operational costs, the management fee, and your net payout. There are no surprise deductions. Short Stay in LA operates on an owner-first model, meaning your payout is the first obligation settled from each month's receipts, not whatever is left over after platform costs.
- Yes. Short Stay in LA coordinates vetted housekeepers and trades for turnovers, restocks, and repairs. You approve anything significant; the routine work is simply handled. Standard and Premium tiers include full cleaning and maintenance coordination as part of the management fee. We work with licensed and insured local providers across all 18 neighborhoods we serve.
- Your home is always yours. There are no long lock-in contracts and no cancellation fees. Give us reasonable notice and we wind down active bookings cleanly, return all keys and access codes, and hand the listing and accounts back to you. Most owners stay because the model works; the exit is easy by design.
