Submit a Privacy Request

This page is the front door for any privacy request: know, delete, correct, limit, or opt out of sale or sharing. Read the steps below, then send us an email with the details. We will reply within ten business days and respond substantively within forty-five days.

1. Who Can Submit

Any California consumer can submit a request under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act. Any data subject in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland can submit a request under the General Data Protection Regulation or UK GDPR. Quebec residents can submit a request under the Law 25. If your jurisdiction is not listed, write to us anyway and we will honor a reasonable request to the extent law allows.

2. Types of Request

  • Right to know what categories of personal information we collect about you and the specific pieces of information we hold.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (tax, audit, ongoing service).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. See our DNSMPI page.
  • Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (we do not process sensitive personal information for inference purposes, but this right still applies).
  • Right to portability, a machine-readable copy of the personal information you provided.
  • Right to non-discrimination. Exercising any right does not affect the service or price we offer you.

3. How to Submit

Email legal@shortstayinla.com from the email address you used with us (a verification step) with the subject “Privacy Request.” Include:

  • your full name;
  • the email address you used with us;
  • the phone number you used with us (if any);
  • the rough date or context of your inquiry, so we can find the right record;
  • the right you are exercising (know, delete, correct, opt out, limit, portability);
  • your jurisdiction (California, EEA, UK, Quebec, other).

If you cannot use email, write to us at [BUSINESS ADDRESS: TBD, Beverly Hills, CA]. Please do not include sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to find your record.

4. Verification

For requests to know, delete, correct, or limit, we will verify your identity to a degree of certainty proportional to the sensitivity of the information at issue, consistent with 11 CCR § 7060 et seq. We will typically confirm by replying from the email address on the record, and we may ask for one or two non-sensitive details only you and we would know.

5. Authorized Agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written permission signed by you and we may verify your identity directly with you before responding.

6. Response Timeline

  • acknowledgment within ten (10) business days of receipt;
  • substantive response within forty-five (45) calendar days, with one optional 45-day extension where reasonably necessary;
  • GDPR / UK GDPR requests responded to within one (1) month, with one optional two-month extension for complex requests;
  • opt-outs of sharing applied as soon as practicable.

7. Appeals

If we deny your request and you believe the denial was incorrect, you may reply with a brief explanation and request a second-level review. We will reply within fifteen (15) business days. You may also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency at cppa.ca.gov, to the California Attorney General at oag.ca.gov, or to your local supervisory authority (for example, the UK ICO at ico.org.uk).
