Accessibility Statement

We want every prospective owner, guest, and visitor to be able to use our website fully and independently. This page explains our standard, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us about a barrier so we can fix it.

1. Our Commitment

Short Stay in LA is committed to making shortstayinla.com accessible to people with disabilities. We design and build with semantic HTML, visible focus indicators, sufficient color contrast, scalable typography, and full keyboard operability as the baseline, not the polish.

2. Conformance Standard

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. WCAG 2.2 AA is the standard most commonly referenced in U.S. Department of Justice guidance for state and local government websites and is widely accepted as the standard for commercial websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

3. Accessibility Features

  • semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) on every page;
  • skip-to-content link at the top of every page;
  • visible, brass-colored focus ring on every interactive control;
  • full keyboard operation, no mouse required;
  • alt text on informational images; decorative images marked as such;
  • contrast ratios at or above WCAG 2.2 AA on body and heading text;
  • responsive design that scales to 400 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling;
  • reduced-motion behavior for visitors with that operating-system preference;
  • aria attributes on every disclosure, dialog, and menu widget.

4. Known Limitations

We test the Site regularly. Where a specific control or third-party embed does not meet WCAG 2.2 AA we acknowledge it here so you know what to expect.

  • Embedded Google Map (footer).The embedded map iframe is provided by Google and inherits Google’s accessibility. If you need our address in text form, see Business and Licensing Disclosures.
  • Hero image animations. Some scroll-triggered fade-up animations may briefly delay the appearance of content. We disable these automatically when your operating system reports a preference for reduced motion.
  • Calculator form. The earnings calculator currently requires a select-and-submit flow. If a select element is unusable for you, write to support@shortstayinla.com and we will collect your inputs by email and return your estimate.

5. Report a Barrier

If you encounter any barrier on the Site, or if any service we provide offline is inaccessible to you, write to us at legal@shortstayinla.com or call us. Include:

  • the URL of the page or the description of the offline service;
  • the barrier you encountered (for example, screen reader could not read X);
  • the assistive technology, operating system, and browser you used;
  • the best way for us to reach you.

We will acknowledge your report within five (5) business days and tell you when we expect to resolve it. We will offer a reasonable alternative way to access the information or complete the task in the meantime.

6. Assistive Technology Contact

For accessibility-specific support, contact our team at legal@shortstayinla.com. We aim to reply within five (5) business days.

7. Applicable Law

We provide this statement consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq.), the California Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 51), and the California Disabled Persons Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 54 et seq.). Nothing on this page constitutes a waiver of any of our rights or any of your rights under these laws.

8. Third-Party Content

Our Site may link to or embed content provided by third parties (mapping providers, payment processors, listing platforms). We do not control those services and we cannot guarantee their accessibility. If a third-party service blocks you from completing a task with us, let us know and we will provide an accessible alternative.
