Acceptable Use Policy

What you may not do on or through our website. This Policy supplements the Terms of Service.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to shortstayinla.com, to any portal or tool we offer, to email and SMS we send or receive, and to any phone call placed to a number under our control. Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access and may be reported to law enforcement.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • submit information that is not yours or that you do not have the right to share;
  • harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate any person, including our team;
  • violate fair housing or anti-discrimination law (see our Fair Housing Statement);
  • violate California real estate law, the LA Home-Sharing Ordinance, the Beverly Hills short-term rental ban, the Santa Monica RBOA, or any equivalent municipal ordinance;
  • submit listings for properties you do not own or do not have the right to manage;
  • attempt to extract personal information about other users or about our team;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Site or our backend services;
  • interfere with the Site, including by sending excessive requests, attempting denial-of-service, or causing the Site to behave abnormally.

3. Automated Access

No scraping. No crawling for systematic copying. No headless or scripted form submissions other than from search-engine crawlers operating in accordance with robots.txt and our published rate. We run rate limiting and a honeypot field on our forms. Bypassing either is a violation of this Policy and may violate the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030).

4. Security

Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or any related network. Do not attempt to access any account, data, or infrastructure that you are not expressly authorized to access. Good faith security research is welcome only with prior written authorization from legal@shortstayinla.com.

5. Content

Do not upload or transmit malware, viruses, spyware, ransomware, or any other malicious code. Do not submit content that infringes the copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of any person (see our DMCA page). Do not submit obscene, exploitative, or otherwise unlawful content.

6. Enforcement

We may, at our discretion, warn you, throttle your access, suspend your access, terminate your access, refer the matter to law enforcement, or pursue any other remedy available at law or in equity. We do not waive any right by tolerating a particular violation.

7. Report Abuse

Report violations of this Policy to legal@shortstayinla.com with the subject line “Abuse Report.”
